Finca Santa María is the life’s work of Armando Benavides, a farmer whose roots in the land of Buesaco, Nariño run deep. Raised in a family of growers, Armando learned early that farming is an act of patience, resilience, and faith. Alongside his wife and children, Santa María has grown into a true family operation. It is one where knowledge, responsibility, and love for coffee are passed from one generation to the next.
Over decades of stewardship, Armando has guided the farm through seasons of hardship and renewal, refining his practices while remaining grounded in tradition. The high-altitude landscape, volcanic soils, and dramatic terrain of Nariño shape both the character of the coffee and the rhythm of life on the farm. Careful harvesting, thoughtful processing, and a deep understanding of the land allow Santa María to express the elegance and complexity this region is known for.
Santa María is more than an estate, it’s a reflection of perseverance and hope. A place where family, terroir, and craftsmanship come together to tell a story of dedication, renewal, and a future rooted firmly in the land.
